I bet the reason GB gets an extra point ...Michael,

I bet the reason GB gets an extra point is because of Jennings' anticipated return (he's "probable" as of now).

Another idea: see if Vegas gives each team a different HFA. That probably could be gleaned from the lines of the last 5 years or so. Also see if a team gets a different HFA "score" with a new stadium (after a coupla years perhaps) and so forth.

-bAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5204092591876211047.post-24271232532633285452012-01-14T12:34:31.971-05:002012-01-14T12:34:31.971-05:00Jim - Patriots vs. Saints would be epic. I do wonder if the simple additive approach I'm using here breaks down at the extreme ends of the scale.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the Saints and Pats win their conferences, so we may be able to find out.Michael Beuoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03960600491528993233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5204092591876211047.post-10901582664225007742012-01-13T19:36:26.848-05:002012-01-13T19:36:26.848-05:00NO v GB over-under: 60.5

Anonymous - Killerspor...Thanks for the feedback.

Anonymous - Killersports.com actually has data going back to the 90's. I've been playing around with the historical data and if I have time, I can either write it up here or on the blog (or both).

When I sent the post to Ed this week, I most likely mucked up the html tags. Hopefully it can get fixed soon. In the meantime, here are the links:

blog

nba rankingsMichael Beuoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03960600491528993233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5204092591876211047.post-32938859429000726672012-01-12T16:23:43.920-05:002012-01-12T16:23:43.920-05:00Awesome! Hope it won't be too much of a burden as it seems you're getting busy with the NBA, but it'd be very interesting to see rankings of previous years. The Gold Sheet has archives for point spreads. An example page: http://www.goldsheet.com/historic/07nflog.html
Covers.com has the same thing: http://www.covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/nfl/teams/pastresults/1985-1986/team12.html

Perhaps there could be separate ratings for week 1-16 and week 13-16 (the "final" ratings of the season).

What do you think?

DSMok1: just remove "http://community.advancednflstats.com/2012/01/" from the URL and it'll work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5204092591876211047.post-26050599798400081472012-01-12T13:52:49.061-05:002012-01-12T13:52:49.061-05:00Good job!
